Answers to frequently asked questions about Leads

How do I let a builder know whether I want to quote or not?

Head to the Leads tab and find the Builders invitation or request you wish to respond to.

You will find this under the Quote Response drop-down on the far right, select either ‘Quoting’, Quote Emailed or ‘Not Quoting (send a reason)’, this will let the builder know of your intentions.

If you select ‘Not quoting’, you will need to provide a reason for the invitation decline.

💡
You have a live response score where the builder can see how active and responsive you are within E1. It is just as important to let the builder know if you plan on ‘Not Quoting’ as it is ‘Quoting’ as both responses contribute to your score.

Can I access my team members invitations?

Yes, you can access invitations sent to members of your team, head to the Leads tab. Click on the ‘Team Member’ filter, and select team members whose invitations you want to see.

You won’t be able to interact with privately listed projects that have been sent to a colleague, but you will be able to see that they have received an invitation.

Why can't I download the documents from a colleague's invitation?

Sometimes projects are confidential in nature - it could be because it’s a Defence job or even a new prison, and some builders prefer to privately invite specific people from their address book.

Because these jobs need that extra level of security, you’ll need to be personally approved by the builder before they can give you the go-ahead to access project documents. You can request this by contacting the builder directly.

💡
It is important to note that if the project has been marked private by the builder - the documents will be inaccessible to any team member that hasn’t been directly invited. The team member invited to the project may be able to forward the documents to you, or you may be need to reach out to the builder if this is not possible.

How do I find my old invitations?

To access all of the projects you’ve been invited to in the past, just click on the Archive screen within the Leads tab.

A Project lead automatically moves to Archive 5 days after the quote due date has passed, or after you respond ‘Not quoting’ to the Builder.

You can also push a Lead into archive by opening the menu and selecting ‘Move to Archive’. If you would like to move a project back to Active you can open the same menu on an Archived project and select ‘Move to Active’.

How can I assign a Lead to another team member?

Leads currently doesn’t allow you to assign a Lead to another member of your Team. If you need to highlight a project for another team member, we recommend adding it to the Watchlist, and assigning the watched project to your colleague.

You can also tag a team mate in the Notes section of a project slider, along with any notes you would like to add, and your colleague will be sent an email to notify them of the note. Any notes you add on a project are only visible to you and your team, builders won’t see anything.

Why do some projects have a ‘Noticeboard’ source instead of ‘Invitation’?

A lead is generated as an Invitation when a builder specifically requests a quote from you.

A Noticeboard lead is created automatically when you interact with a public project, such as viewing, downloading, or requesting documents, even if you haven't been officially invited yet. This helps you track every opportunity you've shown interest in.

What do the Document Status indicators mean?

To ensure you are quoting on the right version of a project, we use three color-coded statuses:

  • Not Accessed: You haven't opened the files yet.
  • Out of Date: The builder has revised the documents since you last viewed them. You should review the new files immediately to ensure your quote is accurate.
  • Current: You have viewed the most recent version of all documents.

How can I see which other builders are tendering for a project?

If you have an Essential Licence, you can click ‘View Other Builders’ on any open project lead. This opens a slider showing all builders currently tendering for that project on E1.

From there, you can proactively view their packages or request documents to increase your chances of winning the work.

Where did my lead go? I can't find it in the ‘Active’ tab.

If a project is more than 5 days past the quote due date, it automatically migrates to the Archived tab to keep your workspace clean. If you've already submitted a quote or marked it as ‘Quote Emailed’, check the Submitted tab instead.

Can I track my ‘Win Rate’ with specific builders?

Yes! In the Submitted tab, once you update the ‘Outcome’ of your quotes (e.g., Won or Lost), E1 generates performance insights. Click on a specific Builder’s Name within your leads to see your historical success rate and how often you engage with them.

Why are some actions disabled on a colleague's project?

If a project is Privately Listed, it is restricted to the specific person the builder invited. While you can see the lead exists via the ‘Team Member’ filter, you cannot interact with the quote response menu or access documents unless the builder adds you specifically or your colleague shares the files with you.

Does marking a project as ‘Not Quoting’ hurt my reputation?

Actually, it helps! Builders value responsiveness.

Selecting ‘Not Quoting’ and providing a reason keeps the builder's records clean and contributes positively to your Response Score. It is much better to decline early than to leave a builder wondering if a quote is coming.
